Gilberto Ozuna, 88, left to be with our Heavenly Father Friday, June 30, 2017 at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco, TX. Gilberto was born December, 27, 1928 to Luciano Ozuna and Anastacia Rendon in Edinburg, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Teofilo, Margarito, George, and Baldomero Ozuna and daughter Orfelinda Ozuna. Left to cherish his memories are his sons/daughter, Richard (Adilia), Ruben (Maggie), Johnny (Anna) , Thelma (Victor) Cordero, Javier (Rosa); brothers, Bense, Rafael, Luciano Ozuna Jr. and Sister, Guadalupe Garcia. 17-grandchildren, 15-great grandchildren.
Mr. Ozuna was an Edcouch City Commissioner for 13 years, an Insurance Agent for 14 years, worked for Texas Plastics Corp., and independently owned Ozuna's Drive-Inn which served the community for many years. Mr. Ozuna met his wife while in the cotton fields in West Texas. They fell in love in Weslaco and moved to California shortly after. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all of his friends and the community.
Visitation was held Saturday, July 1 2017 from: 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will continue on Sunday, July 2, 2017 from: 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Guerra Funeral Home "Chapel of the Angels
Resurrection will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July, 3, 2017 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Edcouch, TX.
Internment is to follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco, TX.
