Raymond Earl Herring, Jr.

66, of Bowling Green, departed this life on Wednesday, July 19, 2017. Ray was born October 13, 1950 in Indianapolis to the late Raymond Earl and Peggy (Davis) Herring, Sr. Ray was a graduate of Brownsburg High School. He worked as a supervisor for IPL for 30 years, retiring in 2001. Ray was a kind and gentle soul who never met a stranger. Ray married the love of his life, Starr "Annie" Sullivan on October 23, 1971. Ray was happiest sitting around a fire and reminiscing with his wife and friends with a Coors in his hand. He had a special love for his 'critters' and rescued many animals in need over the years. Ray enjoyed traveling with Annie to casinos and Estes Park, CO, snowmobiling in Michigan, estate auctions and fishing. He always found a way to brighten someone's day. Ray is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Annie Herring; his brother, Michael W. (Connie) Herring; niece, Michele L. Herring and nephews, Michael W. and William L. Herring.
