Steven C. Essing, 59, of Fort Dodge passed away May 17, 2017. Visitation will be Monday, May 22, at Bruce's Funeral Home from 1-4 PM, Service at 4 PM. Fellowship luncheon and fishing to follow at Loomis Park.
Steve was born March 22, 1958 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Lowell and Beverly (Bockoven) Essing. He was united in marriage to Lori (Lawson) on June 14, 1980. He is survived by three kids, Jessica (Nick) Bailey, Delayna (Cody) Lawman, and Richard Essing; 6 grandkids, Brooklynn, Kennedy, Madden, Adalynn, Shaymus, Ainsley; mother, Beverly Essing; 3 brothers and many brothers/sisters in laws, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Lowell Essing.
Steve loved fishing, rock finding or walking the river bank. He and Lori loved to spend time outdoors and did anything for the grandkids. Over the years he perfected recipes for fudge and baked beans and shared with everyone. He was a genuine, giving soul and has made a big impact on us all. Everyone says what a great guy he was and he will be deeply missed by many friends and family. Happy Forever Fishing to this great Husband, Dad, Papa Bear!
