Ellsworth H. Manning Jr.
April 11, 1959 - July 21, 2017

Ellsworth H. Manning Jr, 58, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2017, at his home in Maquoketa, Iowa.

A celebration of Ellsworth's life will be held at 7 P.M., Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at the Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 from 5 to 7 P.M. at the Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Cremation rites will be accorded, and burial will be at a later date.

Ellsworth H. Manning Jr. was born on April 11, 1959 in Maquoketa, Iowa to Ellsworth H. Sr. and Pauline L. (Doty) Manning. He married Julie Annette McGonigle on October 7, 1982 in Clinton, Iowa.

Ellsworth had worked for Evans United Shows and Frys Amusements for many carnivals for a number of years, eventually becoming a crew chief. He loved working the carnivals but retired due to health reasons.

Ellsworth was known as a simple man who loved to ride motorcycles. His family was especially important to him.

Those left to honor Ellsworth's memory include his children, Dennis (Amy) McGonigle of Independence, IA, Tracy (Josh) Smith of Oelwein, IA, Amanda (Aaron) Brokus of Oelwein, IA, Travis (Sara Jo) Manning of Maquoketa, IA, Pauline (Chris ) Bradford of Waterloo, IA, Chris (Lisa) Manning of Dubuque, IA, Shawn (Emily) Manning of Dubuque, IA, Tina Dean of Platteville, WI, and Daniel McGonigle of Platteville, WI; 35 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Lucille (Duane) Ranthum of Maquoketa, IA, Joann (Tom) Brandenberg of Delaware, IA, and Debbie Manning of Maquoketa, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Barbara Tubbs.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, an Ellsworth H. Manning Jr. memorial fund has been established.
