Paul Richard Crock
February 10, 1928 - July 24, 2017

Paul Richard Crock, 89, of Mechanicsville, entered into eternal rest Monday, July 24, 2017, in Mount Vernon, Iowa. Friends and family may gather at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton, Sunday, July 30, from 2:00-5:00 p.m. for a time of visitation, with a public Rosary to begin at 4:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held Monday, July 31, 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mechanicsville. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsville, with military honors. There will be a luncheon at the Memorial Building in Mechanicsville for all friends and family. Paul was born in Dayton Township, Cedar County, on February 10, 1928, to Clarence Ernest and Nellie Frances (Cessford) Crock. He graduated from Tipton High School before proudly serving his country in the U.S. Army. After his honorable discharge, Paul returned to Iowa and married Geraldine Frances Reihsen in Belle Plaine, Iowa. The couple made their home on Paul's childhood farm in Mechanicsville where they raised their six children.
Paul's employment years were spent farming, along with part-time law enforcement for Cedar County and County Supervisor for 12 years. He was also Post Commander of Mechanicsville American Legion and a 4-H Leader. Paul was a member of the Tipton VFW, Tipton Lions Club and St. Mary's Catholic Church, Mechanicsville.
Surviving Paul are his wife of 62 years, Geraldine Crock; daughters, Linda (Randy) Scheetz, Paula Crock, Donna (Curt) Garner, Regina (Ron) Jurek; daughter-in-law, Doreena Crock; son-in-law, Larry Salemink; sister, Leona (Les) Johnson; 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Richard " Dick " Crock, daughter, Mary Salemink; sisters, Lucille Seelman and Marie Cook, and brother, Robert Crock.
