Ada B. Dodd
September 27, 1916 - July 26, 2017

Ada Burch Dodd, daughter of Wyatt Watson and Ada Musetta Burch, was born September 27, 1916 in King City, Missouri. She passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at the George C. Grape Community Hospital in Hamburg, Iowa at the age of 100.

Ada was born in King City, Missouri, but the family moved to rural Ravenwood, Missouri where she grew up and graduated from Ravenwood High School. After high school she attended Northwest Missouri State Teachers College in Maryville. After graduation she taught at Graham and Worth Schools in Missouri, before moving to Tabor and teaching there. She met and married Clifford "Merle" Dodd and moved to Randolph before settling on the family farm to raise their family.

Ada was an active member of the Randolph Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, quilting and crocheting.

She was preceded in death by her husband Merle, parents, brothers; James Leslie, John Ival, Henry Landis, Wyatt Watson, Jr., Charles Albert Burch and sisters; Bernice Burch and Gladys Reardon.

Ada is survived by her children; Rebecca Jane Dodd of Randolph, Iowa and Jerry Merle Dodd of Omaha, Nebraska, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family.

Celebration of life graveside service will be held 11:00 am, Monday, July 31, 2017 at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Shenandoah.

Visitation with the family will be held from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm, Sunday, July 30, 2017 at the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home in Shenandoah.
