Delores 'Dee'
November 5, 1940 - July 12, 2017

Delores Lorraine Salzkorn, the daughter of Arnold and Verda (Hoover) McClurg, was born on November 5, 1940 in Olivia MN. Her family moved to Iowa when she was six years old. Her childhood years were spent in rural Pocahontas, IA area. Delores received her education in Pocahontas Public School. After finishing her education, Delores had various jobs in the Fonda area. On May 1, 1963 she started working for Superior Manufacturing in Albert City, IA.

Dee married Dwain George Salzkorn on July 3, 1965, they eloped and were married in Vermillion, SD. After their marriage, they lived in Sioux Rapids for a short time. They both worked at Superior Manufacturing and in 1966 they moved to Albert City. The company was bought by Southwest Grease and Oil and in 1969 was bought out by Witco Manufacturing and moved to Spencer, along with Dwain and Delores. While she was employed she worked on the Assembly Line, Shipping, Supervisor and Purchasing. The plant closed in 1998. She had worked starting in Albert City for 35 years. She then was employed with National Box and Display, until retiring in 2004. Delores was active in her church. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, crafts and crocheting. She loved to cook and have family reunions. She especially enjoyed spending time with her stepson's family and step grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Delores passed away on Wednesday, July 12, at her home at the age of 76.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Dwain and her brother, Ralph McClurg

She is survived by one sister, Doris Rolow of Fort Dodge, IA; three brothers: Donald (Janet) McClurg of Pocahontas, IA, Lester (Phyllis) McClurg of Arvada, CO and Arnold Jr. (Bertie) McClurg of Victoria TX; stepson, Dennis (Lynn) Salzkorn of Charter Oak, IA; 6 step grandchildren; 8 step great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many friends.
