Mildred "Millie" Schmidt

Mildred "Millie" Colvin Schmidt, 90, of Waterloo, died Monday, July 24, 2017, at Ravenwood Specialty Care. She was born September 9, 1926 in State Center, IA; the daughter of J.R. Ralph and Alice Proctor Jones. Mildred was married to Arthur Colvin in 1942; he preceded her in death on June 1, 1969. She then married Donald "Don" Schmidt on July 2, 1972 in Galena, IL. Mildred worked at Rath Packing Co. for a short time and was a homemaker for the rest of her life. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Waterloo.                          Mildred is survived by her husband, Donald Schmidt of Waterloo, IA, a son, Dennis Colvin of Marion, IA, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a step??'son, Les Schmidt of TN, a step??'daughter, DeAnne Swatek of Waterloo, two sisters, Joan Whitesell of Mountain Home, AR and Marie (Bob) Buttgen of Waterloo.  She is preceded by a son, Arthur Colvin, Jr.; two brothers, Dwight and Joe Jones; a sister, LaVange Jones; and a daughter??'in??'law, Sue Colvin.
