Shirley L. Tramp
May 18, 1937 - July 28, 2017

Shirley L. Tramp, 80, of Dakota City, NE passed away at her residence on Friday, July 28, 2017.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in South Sioux City, NE. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will begin at 5:00 PM on Monday, July 31, 2017 at the Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE, with a rosary at 6:30 P.M. and prayer service at 7:00 P.M.

Shirley was born in Sioux Falls, SD on May 18, 1937, the daughter of Max and Clarinda (Hourscht) Smelser. She went to school in Sioux Falls, SD until her senior year when her family moved to Sioux City, IA. She graduated from Central High School in 1955. When she was younger, Shirley worked at Sunshine, Johnson Biscuit Company and later was the payroll clerk for Sioux City Dressed Beef. After raising her family, she worked part-time with the Dakota City school lunch program, then for 17 years at Mercy Medical Center's cafeteria.

On September 21, 1957 Shirley married Roy J. Tramp from South Sioux City, NE and would be celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary this year. They were blessed with 4 boys. She enjoyed family, church, and maintained a perpetual adoration hour for 50 years. Shirley was a very loving person, was always praying, and was never upset. She enjoyed dancing, cooking, baking, reading, working in the yard and visiting with people.

Survivors include her husband, LeRoy Tramp of Dakota City, NE; her son, Terry (Teresa) Tramp of Eagle River, Alaska and their children, Melissa, Jacob and Jessica; her son, Dan Tramp and special friend, Lynn Sullivan of South Sioux City, NE and his son, Ethan; her son, Michael (Megan) Tramp of South Sioux City, NE and their children, Thomas, Joseph, John, Catherine, Maria and Anthony; her son, Ken Tramp of South Sioux City, NE and his sons, Tyler and Jared; 2 sisters, Cynthia (Roger) Miller of Okoboji, IA and Wanda Smelser of Iowa; brother-in-law, Wayne Spars of Sioux Falls, SD; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Clarinda Smelser; 3 sisters and 2 brothers-in-law, Geraldine Spars, Diane (Jerry) Churchill, and Jeanette (Neil) Florer.
