Rayner Dean Marchal
December 16, 1930 - July 31, 2017

Rayner Marchal 86, of Allison, formerly of Woolstock, died Monday, July 31, 2017 at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 4, 2017 at Holmes Baptist Church west of Clarion with Pastor Zach Fischer officiating. Burial will be in French Cemetery, east of Woolstock. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.
Rayner Dean Marchal, son of Paul and Mabel Caquelin Marchal was born on December 16, 1930 in Hamilton County. He received his education in Woolstock and received his Associates degree from Eagle Grove Junior College. Rayner married Marjorie Ann Grapp Wilson on September 14, 1990 in Nashua. He farmed for 40 years raising cattle and hogs, retiring in 2010.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie, of Allison; children, David (Jackie) Wilson of Parkersburg, Joyce (Jeff) Dowdell of Osage, Debbie (Gene) Coufal of Columbus, NE; four grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; cousins, Jack Craig of Omaha, NE, Barbara Howleson of Forest City, Marilyn O'Brien of Mazeppa, MN and many extended family.
Rayner was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Helen Dorothy Marchal; brother, Louis Donald Marchal.
He was a member of Holmes Baptist Church and the Ban de la Roche (Woolstock French Club). He enjoyed carving and whittling wooden figurines. Rayner was proud to have knitted caps for the veterans serving in Iraq.
