"She was a woman full of so much live and giving. I remember eating the tomatoes from her garden in the back yard and they put sale on it with a salt shaker. I remember when she washed my hair for church when I stayed there at their home one early summer. It was cold there. The hair brush she used broke in her hand as she brushed my hair and Butchie looked on and stared at us and laughed.....Missing everyone. Live is short. She look just like Violet Mary as a child."

"Evelyn and Gordy were so nice to me at the time of my dad, Del's death in 1973. I remember going to their house and making a jewelry christmas tree with lights. Gordy cut out the board, covered it with felt and we glued on all kinds of jewelry. I still have it, and will always remember their kindness."

"I named my first daughter Evelyn after getting to know your Evelyn. I was a lifeguard and loved chatting with her as she'd swim her laps every day. She was the cutest 70-something swimmer I ever saw...swimming often in a circle so she could talk to others. Your mother/grandmother was a wonderful lady...I truly adored her. My sympathies, Katie Goldsmith"

"Evelyn, or Non as I called her, was a second Mother to me. The path between the houses was pretty well worn. There are so many great memories of her and Gordy. She will be deeply missed. "
