David John Clark was born on May 17, 1941 in Dubuque, son of John E. and Goldie V. (Brewster) Clark. He met the love of his life, Mary Ann Roeder, in school in Charlotte, and they were united in marriage on July 18, 1959 in Petersville, Iowa. They have shared over 58 years of marriage together. Dave was a heavy equipment operator working for many years at Determan Industries. He developed very close friendships during his working years but none closer than with his friends Dave Williams and Dave Wilson. He also was employed as a certified plane mechanic and earned his pilot's license. Dave had a tremendous work ethic. He had been a member of the Clinton Area Rod Club. Dave had a great love affair with his bride Mary Ann, and was deeply devoted to his children and grandchildren, even getting in a little trouble with his kids if they adhered to the "Don't tell your mother" policy. Dave would do anything for anybody at anytime if you were in need or just asked. He enjoyed wintering in Texas with Mary Ann, fishing, riding his motorcycles, and working on cars, even rebuilding an old 1955 Ford Pick Up and a 1935 Chevy Coupe. Dave is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann, Fulton, Ill.; children and their spouses: John (Susie) Clark, Thompson Station, Tenn., Joanne (Don) Salyars, Park View, Iowa, and Jim (Lisa) Clark, Fulton, Ill.; grandchildren: Maggie (Keith) Sosebee, Franklin, Tenn., Mitch (Sarah) Clark, Seabrook, Tex., T. J. (Natasha) Salyars, West New York, N. J. Megan Salyars, Cedar Falls, Iowa; a great-grandson on the way in October; and a sister, Peggy Rohm, Davenport. He was preceded in death by his parents.
