Robert H. Steinhart
September 7, 1927 - August 5, 2017

Robert H. Steinhart, 89, of Carmel, passed away August 5, 2017. He was born September 7, 1927 in Indianapolis to the late John and Helen (Hayes) Steinhart. Robert was a graduate of Broad Ripple High School and Butler University. He was Vice President of Union State Bank(now PNC), having retired when it was National City Bank. Robert was a lifetime member of the Riviera Club.

While at Broad Ripple High School, he played on the IHSAA Final Four basketball team. At Butler he played both baseball and basketball.

Robert was a very loving person, with a wonderful sense of humor. He enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, watching tv, and spending time with friends and family.
Survivors include his sons, Steve(Laurie) Steinhart and Tom(Sue) Steinhart, one grandson, Matthew(Ashley) Steinhart, and all of his great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; niece, Ana Maria(Luis) Powell.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Lois Jane(Biller) and brother, Jack.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 2:30 PM at Tabernacle Presbyterian Church, 418 E. 34th St., Indianapolis, IN, with visitation from 1:00 - 2:30 PM at the church. Entombment to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.

"Bob was the best man in my parents wedding. I remember the foursome going out to eat on their anniversaries and the guys getting together for poker night. I can see Bob, Doc and Jim (my Dad) playing a game of poker in their eternal home. Rest in peace Bob."
