Madison - Jane Marie (Gleason) Cornwall, age 87, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2017, surrounded by her family. She was born on May 26, 1930 in Sterling, Illinois to Clarence J. and Rose (McGava) Gleason.

Jane earned her Registered Nursing degree at St. Anthony's Hospital School of Nursing in Rock Island, Illinois. She moved to Middleton, Wisconsin in the mid-1960s where she and her husband, Neil M. Ford, raised their three children. She continued to live in the Middleton/Madison, Wisconsin area.

Jane was impassioned about working in the medical field, and continued to be a nurturing caregiver long after retiring, bringing her health and medical knowledge to family, friends, and neighbors.

Jane grew up in a house full of love and humor where storytelling, re-telling, and re-telling again has been passed on to the generations and will always continue. She was happiest when surrounded by family and friends, good food and laughter. She will be dearly missed and never forgotten at all future family gatherings.

Jane is survived by two children, Maureen Ford (Drew Groeger) of Chicago, Illinois, and Gregory Ford of Lodi, Wisconsin; a dear friend, David Cornwall of Nekoosa, Wisconsin; a son-in-law, Dennie Ryan of Blue Mounds, Wisconsin; two grandchildren, Kably Ryan of Blue Mounds, Wisconsin, and Kasha Wisniewski of Chicago, Illinois; plus many beloved nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.

Jane was preceded in death by her daughter, Shelley Ford Ryan; her parents; and her five siblings, Gwendolyn Sytek, James Gleason, Susan Kelliher, Rosemary Gallagher, and Barbara Ocker.

Gathering will take place from 9:30-11:00 AM on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 401 South Owen Drive, Madison, Wisconsin 53705 with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 AM.

Friends and family are welcome to gather immediately following mass for a luncheon reception at Cress Funeral Service, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison, Wisconsin 53705.
