Richard L. Boisjolie
January 29, 1925 - August 8, 2017

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2017, at St. Cecelia Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. with a scripture prayer service at 7 p.m. on Friday, August 11, 2017, at Oakcrest Funeral Services.

Richard was born on January 29, 1925, in Little Falls, Minnesota, the son of Leon and Ann (Whipple) Boisjolie. He graduated from Little Falls Community High School and soon after joined the U.S. Army during World War II from 1943 to 1945.

When he returned, he went to the University of Minnesota where he earned an economics degree in 1950.

On July 7, 1951, he married Mary Lou Seeley. He then held jobs at Carpenter Paper Company, General Electric and then for Jostens in Topeka, Kansas, and Cambridge, Maryland, for a number of years. In 1972 he became a partner in a real estate business as an appraiser and eventually branched off to start R. L. Boisjolie Appraisals until his retirement.

He will be remembered fondly for his hobbies of bird watching, reading, fishing, and genealogy.

Richard L. Boisjolie, 92, of Algona, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at the Good Samaritan Society.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Mary Lou; daughters, Nanci Boisjolie of Algona, and Susie (Joe) Muller of Algona, and sons, Paul (Carla) Boisjolie of Austin, Minnesota, and Richard (Jill) Boisjolie of Algona; 9 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son Joel "Joe" Boisjolie.
