JOYCE LETTENBERGER
MUSCATINE, Iowa - Joyce Lettenberger, 83, of Muscatine, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2017.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2017, at St. Mathias Church. Visitation will be held from 9 until 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2017, at Gannon Hall. A time of food and fellowship at Gannon Hall will follow the funeral mass. There will be a private burial at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Jean Lettenberger Annual Scholarship Fund which benefits a swimmer on the Muscatine High School girls swim team. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.

Joyce was born on March 18, 1934, in Kiel Wisconsin, the daughter of Hubert and Hildegard Seichter Nett. She married James Lettenberger on August 11, 1954 in Kiel.

Joyce was a member of Ss. Mary and Mathias Catholic Parish, the Muscatine Catholic Community Guild, Catholic Daughters of the Americas - Joan of Arc Court 524, and the Muscatine Melon Patchers Quilt Club.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, James Lettenberger; her children, Jan Herman and husband, Andrew, Jeffrey Lettenberger and wife, Patricia, Julie Keig, and husband Robert, JoMary Schuman, and Joni Bieri and husband, David; 15 grandchildren, Jesse Keig and Abby Markham, Bart and Neil Lettenberger, and Jenna Evans, Stephanie Werwie, Brian Herman and Brenda Braatz, Michelle Wulfekuhle, Matthew Schuman and Madalyn Bendgen, Spencer, Dexter, Brandon and Collin Bieri; great-grandchildren, Kiley and Caden Wulfekuhle, Sienna and Lilly Keig, Dylan Markham, and Hannah and Grace Bendgen; one sister, Shirley Klauck and husband, Fred; one brother Hubert Nett Jr. and wife, Diana; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Jean; and brothers, Wilfred and Marvin Nett.
