Victor G. Guerrero
December 23, 1938 - August 9, 2017

Victor G. Guerrero, 78, of Hampton, Iowa passed away Wednesday August 9th at Mercy Medical Center - North Iowa in Mason City. He was born on December 23rd 1938 in Tlachichila Zacatecas Mexico to Jose Jesus Guerrero and Ignacia Gomez. Victor was married to Connie Hernandez on March 5th 1962. They shared 55 wonderful years of marriage together. In 1974 they set roots in Hampton to raise their family. Victor had a strong work ethic that he instilled on his family, he took pride in his work and wanted to create a better life for his children. He began employment with Fred Carlson Construction and later became employed with companies that included Iowa Concrete and United Hydraulics. He was very proud to be employed as a heavy equipment operator with the Iowa Department of Transportation. Working hard was one of his biggest joys in life and he took pride in making sure winter roads were safe for drivers. He was known for having one of the cleanest stretches of highway. He was an early riser who enjoyed a good cup of coffee, often times he would be the one making the coffee at work for his co-workers as well as convenience stores for the other coffee drinkers. Victor lived life to the fullest and was a comedian that was always making everyone laugh, you never saw him in a bad mood. Often times you would see him driving around looking for the next best deal. He loved his family and enjoyed watching his grandkids play sports. As a grandpa he made all the grandkids feel like his favorite. He enjoyed dancing and singing with the kids, he also enjoyed the outdoors and gardening. He is survived by his wife Connie Guerrero, children Martina (Don) Logeman of Mason City, John (Veronica) Guerrero of Hampton, Ric (Jeni) Guerrero of Spencer, Vic Jr (Tara) Guerrero of Hampton, Sandra (Scott) Schneider of Cedar Falls 16 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild siblings Lupe Guerrero of Hampton, Ranulfo Guerrero of Mission, TX Juan Guerrero of Mission, TX Nora Torres of Hampton, Elizabeth Garcia of San Francisco, CA Lupita Montalvo of Hampton and Estella Rodriguez of Olathe, KS. Victor was preceded in death by his parents Jose and Ignacia and brothers Manuel, Antonio and Jose.

"Around 1978, I was a new young welder at United Hydraulics and Victor was the welders support man. We all had some good times clowning around and shouting out sayings that had a meaning to us but others had no idea what we were talking about. He moved on to a construction job but we would still talk at Casey's. A good guy."
