Michael J. Nordlie
October 18, 1951 - August 9, 2017

Stoughton- Michael J. Nordlie, age 65, passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Agrace after a five year battle with cancer. He was born in Stoughton on October 18, 1951, the son of Raymond and Josie Nordlie. Mike graduated from Stoughton High School in 1969. On June 22, 1974 he married Jean E. Veum. Together they loved travelling and going on road trips. Mike worked in the Stoughton area for over 40 years and retired in January of 2015. Mike enjoyed attending Stoughton boys and girls hockey games. He was a big fan of the Beloit Snappers baseball team. Most of all Mike enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and enjoyed taking them to Disney World several times. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Jean; two sons, Brian (Sarah) and Chad; five grandchildren, Ty, Cheyenne, Brianne, Jackson and Savannah; two brothers, John (Mary) and Ken (Mary); many nieces, nephews and cousins; and numerous friends. Mike was preceded in death by his parents; father and mother-in-law, Owen and Eunice Veum; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Covenant Lutheran Church in Stoughton, with Rev. Jerry Tews officiating. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon, immediately following, in the church fellowship hall. Burial will take place in Graves Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Monday, August 14, 2017 at Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton, and from 10:00 AM until the time of services at church on Tuesday.
