Harold "Bem" Bemisdarfer, 74, of Fort Dodge passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2017, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Joanna of Fort Dodge; daughter, Sandy Denny of Phoenix, AZ; step-son, Mark Bailey of Belmond; step-daughters, Diane Reed of Peterson; and Jody Bailey of Sioux Falls, SD.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Irene (Ridenour) Bemisdarfer; and son, Brian.
Harold L. Bemisdarfer was born June 21, 1943 in Burlington, IA. He attended school in Burlington and graduated Burlington High School. He then attended Drake College for a period of time. He worked as a boiler maker in Des Moines. On November 14, 1984 he was united in marriage to Joanna Bockert. The couple established their home in Okoboji near Arnolds Park, where they owned and operated the "Blue Note". They then moved to Lake Park and operated the "Pub". In 2000, the couple moved to Fort Dodge. Bem enjoyed fishing, golfing, and being outdoors.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
