Dorothy A. Rogers
May 16, 1921 - August 21, 2017

Dorothy Armenta Rogers, daughter of William Franklin and Nellie Mae (Perguson) Biggers, was born May 16, 1921 in Dawson, Missouri. She passed away on Monday, August 21, 2017 at the Elm Heights Care Center in Shenandoah at the age of 96.

Dorothy's early life was spent in Dawson, Missouri, Shenandoah, Iowa and Farragut, Iowa. She graduated from Farragut High School with the class of 1939.

She worked as a bookkeeper for J S Cooke Co. in Cedar Rapids, Iowa from 1958-1977. She then moved to Omaha, Nebraska and worked from Rader's Office Equipment in Omaha, Nebraska from 1977-1989 in the accounting department. In 1990, she worked as a secretary for Kathryn Bokelman - Investments in Papillion, Nebraska until retirement in 1993.

Dorothy was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Shenandoah and Christian Women's Club. She was a volunteer at the Shenandoah Medical Center and the Shenandoah Public Library. She enjoyed reading, interior decorating and crafts.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Nellie Biggers, sisters Dorless Biggers, Delores (Don) Harrison and Shirley Henggeler, brother Donal (Barbara) Biggers, aunt Edna Carder and niece Deanna Hurley.

Dorothy is survived by her five nieces and nephews and their families and brother-in-law Bob Henggeler.

Celebration of life graveside service will be held 11:00 am, Monday, August 28, 2017 at the Farragut Cemetery in Farragut, Iowa.

Memorial visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, Monday, August 28, 2017 at the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home in Shenandoah, Iowa.

Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church of Shenandoah.
