MUSCATINE, Iowa - Jerry N. Honts, 56, of Muscatine, passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2017, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 1, 2017, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Reverend Dave McIntosh of the Hillcrest Baptist Church will officiate. A time of food and fellowship will follow the service at the First Baptist Church in Muscatine. Visitation will be held from 4 until 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 31, 2017, at the funeral home. Jerry was born on March 23, 1961, in Muscatine, the son of Robert V. and Catherine White Honts. He was a graduate of Muscatine High School, class of 1979. He married Emily Graham on September 28, 2002, in Muscatine at the Wesley United Methodist Church.

He had many talents and skills in the steel fabrication industry and was currently employed with Howard Steel. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, landscaping, and sharing his love for God.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Emily Honts of Muscatine; his children, Sarah Honts of Gilbert, Arizona, and Ryne Honts and wife, Chrissy, and Katie Honts, all of Muscatine; three grandchildren, Hayden, Viviana, and Eli; two brothers, Larry Honts and wife, Mishelle, and Dave Honts and significant other, Gail Long, all of Muscatine; two sisters, Gloria Scholz of Port Orange, Florida, and Shirley Wilson and husband, Jack, of LeClaire; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers-in-law, Lyn Scholz, and John Beverlin; and a nephew, Joe Beverlin.
