In loving memory of

Marlene (Markovich) Jordan
June 23, 1936 - September 7, 2017

Marlene (Markovich) Jordan
6/23/36 - 9/7/17

Marlene passed away peacefully of natural causes on September 7th, 2017, with love in her heart, family by her side and blessed with a few wonderful days of family time before her departure. Her sense of humor stayed until the end.

Marlene Jordan was born in Butte, Montana on 6/23/36 to George and Martha Markovich. They later moved to Seattle where she and her brother Jim Markovich grew up on Beacon Hill. She graduated with Honors from Cleveland High School and married High School sweetheart Richard Jordan with whom she had two children, Sherilyn and Michael.

Marlene worked as the Materials Purchasing Manager at The Mt. St. Vincent in West Seattle starting in 1972 and later Providence at Cherry Hill until her retirement in 2000.

Marlene loved raising her children and took exceptional pride in her granddaughter Nicole Jordan. She cherished her close and loving relationship with her brother Jim, especially after their parents passed away.

She loved reading, doing crossword puzzles, trips to the casino to play the slot machines, Butte pasties with ketchup and family dinners together at Angelo's enjoying their delicious Roquefort Steak with spumoni ice cream for dessert!

She is preceded in death by grandparents Martha and Clyde Lucas, Joseph and Mary Markovich, parents Martha and George Markovich.

She is survived by her brother Jim Markovich of Seattle, WA, daughter Sherilyn Jordan of Seattle, WA, son Michael Jordan, wife Candis of Redmond, WA and her granddaughter Nicole Jordan of Mill Creek, WA.

"What do you say to someone to articulate how you feel about them when you know what little time remains could be the last. Words do not always capture emotions, feelings, and thoughts. If necessarily the words that come to mind to describe my gramma (truly my gramma) would be loving, supportive, kind, generous, consistent, intelligent and not to mention stubborn. To me, my gramma has always been a safe place. A place I could go to and feel unconditional love, even when I knew I was wrong she would never make me feel wrong she would only help me feel right. It is a blessing to experience true friendship like that and I know that life without her in it will not only be challenging but also unfamiliar. She has always been my first contact in times of joy and in times of sorrow, a shoulder to lean on and arms to hug. I have nothing but love for my gramma and I always will. I will remain strong knowing that she knows how much I love her and cherish her, to which I know and feel loved and cherished by her. I will not allow my life to feel empty without her because I know she would not want that instead I choose to keep her with me forever. I will always talk to her and I will always feel her love and support. I will learn from her and lead a life that is kind, generous, consistent, intelligent and even stubborn. Please know that I love you so much; please know that I will stay strong and proud that you are my gramma and I am your favorite granddaughter".- Letter from her Granddaughter and we couldn't have said it any better Sister, Mother and Grandmother.

In memory of Marlene has requested donations to the Diabetes Association in lieu of flowers.

A memorial service will be announced in the future.

"The loss of a loved one is so heartbreaking. I hope you can find comfort in this bible scripture. John 11:25, Jesus said to her: I am the resurrection and the life. The one who exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life. "
