Gerald A. "Gerry" Bade, 81, of Winona, MN went to be with his Lord on, Saturday, September 9, 2017, at his home in Winona.
Gerry was born on December 23, 1935, in Belvidere township of Buffalo County, WI to Alvin and Olivia (Zirzow) Bade. He was a graduate of Cochrane Schools and from vocational school in La Crosse, WI. Gerald was united in marriage with Arlys Vaughn on September 10, 1955, at Christ Lutheran Church in Cochrane, WI. He was employed by 7up Bottling Company in Winona and Rochester, MN for 36 years, and by Pepsi Cola Bottling Company in La Crosse, WI for six years as a supervisor. Gerald spent 30 years as a musician for the Blue Denim Boys, Jolly Polka Band, and The Happy Beats of Winona. Gerry spent his retirement volunteering at the St. Mathews School in Winona. He was a charter member of the Goodview Activity Group and was a member of Goodview Trinity Lutheran Church in Goodview, MN.
Gerry is survived by his wife, Arlys; four children: Roxanne (Tim) Neyers of Minnesota City, MN, Coleen (Dan) Kowalewski of Goodview, MN, Lori (Kevin) Gerdes of Wilson, MN, and Jay (Cindy) Bade of Minnesota City, MN; step-son, Jack (Bonnie) Vaughn; 11 grandchildren; three step grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; one brother, James (Pat) Bade of Menomonie, WI; one sister, Carol (James) Kent of Eau Claire, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Renee Brown in 1994.
There will be a memorial service for Gerald at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at Goodview Trinity Lutheran Church with the Reverend Ben Sadler officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Buffalo City Cemetery in Buffalo City, WI at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials directed to Goodview Trinity Lutheran Church for their church improvement fund.
Hoff Celebration of Life Center in Goodview, MN is assisting the family with arrangements.
