Rosemary Ann Salyers
April 22, 1923 - September 9, 2017

Rosemary (Ralles) Salyers, 94 of Papillion, NE, formerly of Key Largo, FL, passed away on September 9, 2017 at Hillcrest County Estates in Papillion. A private family burial will be held. Loess Hills Funeral Home of Malvern in charge of arrangements.

Memorials: are directed to the family and will be sent to those affected by Hurricane Irma.


Rosemary Ann (Ralles) Salyers, daughter of Theresa (Lieb) and Tom Ralles, was born April 22, 1923, in Des Moines, Iowa. She graduated from Roosevelt High School and attended Iowa State College in Ames, Iowa, where she met her future husband, Joe.

Rose and Joseph Franklin Salyers, son of Thomas and Flora (Fickel) Salyers, were united in marriage on March 31, 1944, in Nogales, Mexico. Joe was a building contractor and realtor for 30 years in Tucson, Arizona. They moved to Miami, Florida in 1971, and to Key Largo, Florida in 2003.

Rose enjoyed pottery-making, traveling, and boating with Joe. She loved keeping in touch with her siblings and Joe's brother and wife and their families and her many friends.

Joe passed away November 10, 2009 at age 87, in Key Largo. Rose continued to live in "The Keys" and had recently moved to Nebraska to live near family.

Rose passed away September 9, 2017, at Hillcrest Country Estates in Papillion, Nebraska, at the age of 94 years, 4 months, and 17 days. In addition to her beloved husband Joe, she was preceded in death by her parents, and brother-in-law Tommy Salyers.

Rose is survived by her brothers Homer Ralles of Inglewood, CA, and Philip Ralles of Tucson, AZ; sister Athena Combs and husband Barry of Omaha, NE; sister-in-law Cleta Salyers of Malvern; nieces, nephews and their families; and other relatives and friends.
