Martin "Doc" Francis Mullin, 97, of Dougherty, who resided in Hampton, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at the Rehabilitation Center in Hampton, Iowa.
He was born March 26, 1920, to John and Margaret (McMenimen) Mullin in Dougherty, Iowa. Martin graduated from St. Patrick's School. He was united in marriage to Agnes Logan on October 5, 1955, at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Dougherty, Iowa. Martin served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1942-1946 during World War II. He worked at Tyden Feeds Company in Dougherty and at Armour Deckers in Mason City, Iowa. Martin was a member of the American Legion and the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Dougherty, Iowa. Doc was a diehard Hawk fan and loved watching the Iowa Hawkeyes football and basketball teams and attending his daughter and grandchildren's activities. He loved his grandchildren so much and was very proud of them. Doc treasured the time spent with his special granddaughter. He also valued the bond that continued with the Kaplan family.
Martin is survived by his daughter Mary Janeen Nalan of Mason City, granddaughter Michelle (Scott) Murray of Hampton, grandson Matthew Nalan of Phoenix, Arizona, grandson Michael (Tabatha) Nalan of Mason City, nephew John (Birdie) Crowe of Mason City, niece Colleen (Bob) Mullin of Santa Anna, California, niece Susan Crowe of Manhattan Beach, California, great grandchildren Calli, McCabe, Adison, Alivia and Ean, and grand-dogs Izzy, Missy and Maggy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Agnes, sister Viola Crowe, brothers Walter, Raymond and Robert Mullin, a very special aunt and uncle Dr. HH and Sadie Abegg, along with special nephews Jerry Kaplan and Robert Crowe.
