Gary Waldhart

Gary C. Waldhart, age 65, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at his home, surrounded by family.  He was born on November 15, 1951 in Medford, WI, the son of Herbert and Marie (Beyerl) Waldhart.  After graduating from UW Madison Gary worked as a math teacher and coach for various schools.  Gary was united in marriage to Sherry Golz on October 16, 1982 in Evansville, WI.  He founded Auto Marketing Services (AMS) in 1982 and enjoyed watching his business and employees grow until his retirement in 2016.

Gary gave of his time to many business and community organizations and very proudly served on the board of directors for St. Vincent de Paul Society.  Gary loved playing cards, football, gardening, biking, travelling and above all spending time with friends and family especially his children and grandchildren. 

He is survived by his wife, Sherry; his children, Amanda (Ben) Bartlett, Caitlin Waldhart and Jeff (Lisa Press) Waldhart; grandchildren, Brycen, Brady and Lily Bartlett; mother, Marie Waldhart; siblings, Lee (Mary), Francine, Phil (Donna), Tom (Janet), Steve (Deb), Rick (Tracy), Jeanine (Hugh) Feirer, Peggy (Mark) Larsen, JoAnn (Jim) Adams and Diane (Bill) Landry; and also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, sister-in-law Jody Waldhart and beloved family member, Tommy Wortham.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 18, 2017 at ST. ANDREW CATHOLIC CHURCH, 301 S. Main Street, Verona, with Fr. Gary Wankerl officiating.  Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Ryan Funeral Home, 220 Enterprise Drive, Verona and also on Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass.

The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at UW Hospital and Clinics, Dr. Kathleen Carr, and Agrace HospiceCare.

Memorials may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society, Agrace HospiceCare and Verona Public Library.
