Dianna June (Boggs) Eiler, Springport, Indiana, passed away Saturday morning, September 23, 2017 at Yorktown Manor Health Care, in the company of her family after an extended illness.
She was born June 2, 1950 in Muncie, to J. Edwin and June (Berry) Boggs, and was their third child. She enjoyed the benefit of being brought up on their farm. There were always cousins nearby to play with as well as her siblings. She always felt fortunate to be surrounded by so many family members. Her family's long history of membership at Pleasant Grove Methodist Church brought the friendships of many area families.
Dianna attended Muncie area schools as well as Royerton and Delta high schools. She was a member of the graduating class at Delta in 1968. While attending Ball State University, she majored in art, and would later graduate as a non-traditional student. During her years at Ball State, she enjoyed immensely the friendships that developed with other students and faculty members.
On March 7, 1970, she married Jerry Richard Eiler.
While raising her family, she worked at Ball Memorial Hospital which became I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital. She worked for several years on the Cardiac Telemetry Unit and after a short break, became employed in the Emergency Department. Her time at BMH afforded her the opportunity to know many wonderful people, and she was blessed with the positive influence of their friendships.
Her family came first in her life. She and Jerry raised two daughters, Lora Diane, and Christy Elizabeth. Her love of cooking had kept her busy creating countless meals for her family. In later years, she and Jerry hosted many family meals during the holidays.
Her grandchildren brought her great joy. The time she spent with them was especially precious to her.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry; daughters Lora (Eiler) Rose (husband Craig); Christy (Eiler) Knight, and son-in-law Joseph Knight; grandchildren Mason Knight, Gabrielle Knight, Sidney Rose, and Garrett Rose; her sister , Susan (Boggs) Latour (husband Dennis) of Springfield, VA; brothers, Steve Boggs (wife Letha) of BlueAsh, OH; and Charles H. Boggs (companion Barbara Welch) of Muncie, IN; her mother-in-law, Betty Eiler; her brother-in-law David Eiler and his children Jessica and David and their children; many nieces and nephews, and aunt Helen (Wright) Boggs.
She was predeceased by her parents, J. Edwin (Eddie) and June Boggs as well as grandparents, and many aunts and uncles.
A private family gathering will be held following her cremation and burial at Elm Ridge Cemetery.

"So sorry to hear of Dianna's passing. She and Sally Berry and I were the only three our age at Pleasant Grove Methodist Church where all the Berrys, Boggs, Sharps, and we Carnals attended. Lots of time, learning, and really good food...She is a dear friend even though we've been far apart these last years. I was glad to reconnect on Facebook and hoped to see her at our class reunion. Jerry, you and your family have our prayers.

"Diana was a kind sweet soul and my heart aches that she is gone. Dianna was more to me than just my "best friends mom". She was always there us during our high school days. Dianna's cooking was incredible, in fact all of us sat around and talked about that recently. She took care of a severe sunburn of mine, just like my own mom would have. She gave me one of her paintings for a wedding gift that I will always cherish. She will be missed. Your family has much to celebrate with her life. Love always Heather Neal"
