MUSCATINE, Iowa - Jeffery S. Hocke, 55, of Muscatine, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2017, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.
Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 4:30 until 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at the Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Jeff was born on December 25, 1961, in Muscatine, the son of Gerald Erwin and Patricia Wilhelm Hocke. He married Judy Troxel-Meyer on January 3, 2009 in Muscatine.
He worked for Heinz, CIPCO, and most recently Louisa Generating Station, also known as, Mid-American Energy. Jeff was a former member of the Moose Lodge, and the Muscatine USBC. He enjoyed bowling, playing poker with his boys and friends, playing bags, beach vacations, trips to various casinos, watching the Chicago Cubs and Bears games, and working outside in the yard.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Judy Hocke; two sons, Ryan Hocke and wife, Melody, of Cedar Rapids, and Kevin Hocke and wife, Brittany, of Ames; two step daughters, Lindsey Scott and husband, Todd, of Bondurant, Iowa, and Randyl LaMaack and husband, Derek, of Coralville; his grandchildren, Alexander and Owen Scott, Ashlynn Hocke, and baby LaMaack due in February 2018; his mother, Pat Hocke, of Muscatine; his mother-in-law Pat Minder, of Muscatine; two brothers, Terry Hocke and wife, Liz, of Wapello, and Ron Hocke, of Muscatine; and many Aunts, Uncles, and numerous cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father Jerry Hocke; brother Randy Hocke; and special buddy Tyler James Harris.

"I started cipco in 2002. Jeff was my shift engineer and pretty much took me under his wing and taught me so much about a power plant. But besides being your shift engineer he was also a great person. Even though I didn't talk to him too much lately after cipco closed I still respect him for all of his dedication at the power plant.
