"What an incredible, kind, loyal, generous, and faithful man. He definitely made the world a better place! We'll never forget him showing up with hot cinnamon rolls to our house every Christmas :) And then he made a special trip over after our Dad passed away - just to show us we were thought of. We will miss him. Praying for your family that the peace of God which rested in your husband/Dad will now rest with you in this time. All our love, Joel Schmidgall (and family)"

Marty and Deb Neu wrote on Sep 29, 2017:

"Our hearts break with the Wachter family knowing what a hole Rick's passing will leave. We met Rick 13 years ago when our son Tony asked his daughter Lori to marry him. Rick's love for his wife and children were so evident. Also his love for the Lord. What an answer to our prayers that our son would have a father-in-law he could trust to give wise counsel. Rick was a living example of what it meant to be an amazing husband, father and grandfather. We were so delighted to share grandchildren with him. "

Marian Mueller wrote on Sep 28, 2017:

"Our pastor always says "we can only imagine what he is seeing now." May it be easier for Donna and their family to remember the good times very very soon. Marian"

"Oh, I am so very sorry to hear this sad news! I used to attend church with Rick years ago during childhood, and then he married one of my classmates from Mt. Pulaski High School. Sandy, my heart goes out to you and your children and family. You will most certainly be in our prayers! Delores (Rager) Kingsley"

"So sorry to hear of Rick's passing. I worked with him for many years at Meade. He hired me and was my immediate supervisor during that time. He was extremely supportive and always "had my back". I'll remember him fondly."
