"Upon moving to P.A. for a job assignment, Fred took me under his wing and was a true friend. He knew and had many friends in the industry and never met a stranger. I talked to him a week before his passing. Even then, he was always concerned with others before himself and never mentioned or complained about his personal struggles in life. I often looked to him for strength and encouragement even after my job assignment ended; he was a wealth of knowledge and many lineman, engineers, colleagues etc. respected him. I will definitely miss our conversation, old lineman jokes and shared life lessons. Until we meet again Fred......I know you keep the lights and power on until I get there. - your friend - Rodney Gibbs"
