"I have so many great memories of Marianne! She took me under her wing as a new member of the Hoerschelman clan when I married Eldon. She and my mother had a relationship that developed into a literary labor of love! Both loved to write letters, and my mom read many of your mom'd letters to me over the phone! She always had a place at her table for you, and was there when you needed her. Her laugh was contagious, and her smile was genuine and lit up her face. We shared many laughs and a few tears as well during the time we were raising our children. Gary, Lori, Lisa and Jan, your mother was a wonderful person, and I am so glad that she got to be part of my life! I know that there were many waiting for her at the gates of Heaven on Sunday when she arrived -- among them your dad. They are back together again -- as they should be. Keeping you all in my prayers! Julie Gentz"

"Lori, Lisa, Jan, Gary and families- I am so sorry about the loss of your mother. I have many great memories from high school days of spending time with Lori at your house, your parents were great. Your mom was a good farm wife, I remember the butter churn and learning about it from her. (we didn't have one!) Using the old wringer washer for the work clothes-jeans..her garden, she was a hard worker and always had a great meal for her family. She was a great lady.and would try to break some of my tom-boyisms while there! She was supportive and would listen when we sat down at the table to talk sometimes after school.I truly appreciated her at that time of my life.Moving into a new town is hard, esp in high school. Your parents were very supportive to both my sister Kay & I and it meant a lot. Know I am thinking about you as you go through this time and hold your good memories tight to your heart. Love, Michelle (Stahmer) Smith"

Joan Turner wrote on Oct 2, 2017:

"Hi there. My name is Joan Turner. The Hoerschelman children were my second cousins. My mother, Bonnie Bolte Turner, was a first cousin with Bertha Bolte Horschelman. I remember Marianne when I was a young girl and early teen. I remember going to the Hoerschelman farm and having a wonderful time playing in the hay loft, feeding the livestock, hiking through the woods and having fabulous food. Marianne was always so sweet, calm, kind, soft spoken and always loving. I'm sure her immediate family will miss her presence in their lives. Wishing her comfort and love in her next journey. RIP sweet Marianne..."
