September 14, 1939 - October 2, 2017

Ann Elaine Heitland, 78, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away Monday, October 2, 2017, at the Franklin Country View Nursing Facility in Hampton. She was born on September 14, 1939, in Mason City, Iowa, to Henry and Genevieve (Jackson) Pendergraft.

Ann graduated from Mason City High School. She was united in marriage to Dale Heitland on May 29, 1965, in Mason City. To this union two girls were born.

She worked in the orthodontist office of Dr. Oldham as an assistant until she married Dale. Ann was an amazing farm wife. She grew up in a city but quickly adapted to the farm. She loved children and animals and no one was ever a stranger as she could talk to anyone. Ann was a prize-winning pie baker and was known for her cookies. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, attending auctions and collecting antiques. She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hampton where she found great joy in the quilting group.

Ann is survived by her husband Dale Heitland of Hampton, two daughters Teresa (Bryce Feldhoff) Heitland of Ames and Laurie (Tod) Huen of Claremore, Oklahoma, four grandchildren Heather, Harley, Isaac and Lane, two sisters Sarah Province of Broomall, Pennsylvania and Lynne Boldt of Ankeny, along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Genevieve.
