Patrick L. Vradenburg
September 12, 1952 - October 2, 2017

Patrick Leroy Vradenburg, 65, of Keokuk, passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, October 2, 2017, at his home.

Pat was born on September 12, 1952, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Francis Eugene and Darlene Daggs Vradenburg. On September 1, 1973, he was united in marriage to Melodie Rowlette in Keokuk. She survives. A resident of Keokuk for many years, Pat was employed by Sheller-Globe and later with the State of Iowa as a corrections officer. He was a member of the Protestant faith.

Pat's family always came first and he always did things for others before himself. He enjoyed following the Iowa Hawkeyes, especially football. He enjoyed gardening and the holidays, especially decorating. Pat loved his granddaughters. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and reading western themed books.

Pat is survived by his wife, Melodie Vradenburg of Keokuk; three children, Danielle (William) Boring of Keokuk, Joshua (Lori) Vradenburg of Warsaw, IL, and Desiree Vradenburg of Keokuk; five granddaughters, Caitlyn Vradenburg, Breanne Vradenburg, Gabrielle Boring, Olivia Vradenburg and Ava Vradenburg; brother, Arthur Eugene (Cheryl) Vradenburg of Keokuk, and sister Lydia Sue (Randy) Crowell of Carthage, IL.; aunts, Leora Vance and Marylin Lile, mother-in-law, Evalee Rowlette; sister-in-law Pat Vradenburg; three nephews, Brian (April) Vradenburg, Seth Vradenburg, and Adam Vradenburg and niece Susan Atterberg.

Pat was preceded in death by his parents; sister Nancy in infancy; grandparents; father-in-law Richard Rowlett; sister-in-law Gretchen Rowlette, uncle Everett Lile and aunt and uncle Velma and George Jones.

A gathering to celebrate his life will be from 5:00 to 7:00 Friday, October 6, 2017 at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center at 917 Blondeau Street. No service is planned.

Memorials have been established.
