Martha Mary Glaser Genrich, age 94 of Titonka passed away October 6, 2017, after a brief illness. She was the youngest child of the late Eugene F. Glaser and Maude (Staats) Glaser.
Martha, born in Greenwood, Mississippi on February 6, 1923, attended school in Greenwood, MS before attending Mississippi State College for Women and receiving a degree in Mathematics.
After working in her field for several years, Martha met Bernard Everett Genrich (1922-2007), originally of Lone Rock, IA, while working as a map maker for an oil company in Nassau, Bahamas. They were married in Greenwood, MS, on June 18, 1949, and enjoyed 58 years of marriage.
Martha and Bernard raised four children, Sue Genrich Berry of Titonka, IA; Mary Lou Genrich Carter (Philip) of Eddy, TX; Fred Genrich (Kathryn) of Cartersville, GA; and Edward Genrich of Eddy, TX. In addition to her children, Martha is survived by 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Martha was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all. She was a terrific Bridge player and also enjoyed tutoring students in math.
The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her at the Titonka Care Center. According to her wishes a memorial service will be held at the Titonka Care Center at a later date.
