Jerry D. Bernard passed away at home on October 9, 2017 in Carmel, IN at the age of 83.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Norma Bernard; his brother, Neil Bernard; his children, Kari Snodgrass, Adam Bernard, and Melissa Simpson; his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Muriel Stephenson and Carolyn See.
Jerry was born on December 29, 1933 in Mexico, Indiana to the late Lyman and Hattie Bernard. He served in the US Army from 1952-1955. He graduated from Indiana University in 1959 with a degree in Business. He married Norma in 1955. After moving to Carmel he began working for and retired from the United States Post Office.
A celebration of life gathering is scheduled at his home (649 Emerson Road, Carmel, IN 46032) from 2-4 PM on Saturday, October 14, 2017. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jerry's life.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made in his honor to the following organizations: Community Hospital Hospice, https://www.ecommunity.com/community-foundation/network-foundation-online-donation , or the Humane Society of Hamilton County.
