Paula Jo Shaul
October 28, 1948 - October 10, 2017

Paula Jo Shaul, 68, of Keokuk, passed away at 9:33 PM Monday, October 9, 2017, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.

Paula was born October 28, 1948, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Floyd Jackson and Iris Shaw Henson. She had been married to Terry Bode and later to Doug Shaul. She was a lifelong resident of Keokuk and had been employed by Methode Electronics for twenty years.

She was a member of Southside Boat Club. She enjoyed all sorts of games on the computer and reading horror and science fiction stories. She loved her dog.

Paula is survived by a son, Brian (Amy) Bode of Keokuk; a daughter, Melissa Bode of Keokuk; stepdaughter, Claira Cannon of Keokuk; six grandchildren, Logan and Jayme Bode, Brett and Cameron Petersen, Bailey and Kerrigan Bode, all of Keokuk; and nine great grandchildren, Greyson, Damian, Bowyn, Brycen, Brayden, Layla, Lyam, Ashtyn, and Adryan. She is also survived by a half-sister, Sherri Samuels; two half-brothers, Kevin and Kent Henson; her stepmother, Lois Henson; and companion, Greg Sweet.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Doug Shaul; and two cousins, Tracy and Denis Atterberg.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 13, 2017 at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center at 1212 Concert Street with Pastor Jason Mott officiating. Inurnment will follow at Keokuk National Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 3:00 PM Thursday, October 12, 2017 with family meeting friends from 6:00 to 9:00.

A memorial has been established for her grandchildren.
