"Faye,Doris, RoseMary, Shirley & Roy, I am so sorry to hear about Thomas Earls passing. I have special sweet memories about this man. Remembering back as I was a young child . He would come over to the house to visit or may have helped dad some . I remember this one particular time that he came. He owned a convertible, a nice looking middle size car. On this day the top was open all the way back. Now, get this in your heads, I WAS A CHILD. I DID NOT DRIVE. I probably had never been permitted to drive. I may have been12- 13 years old but I was small built at that time. I'm thinking dad may have been putting up hay that day, him driving a big truck around the field very slowly so his men could pick the hay up out of the field and throw them up on back of the truck. I'm thinking I may , as a child ask dad could I drive the truck in field while this was going on. And of course dad didn't let me .. I had seen my other older siblings do this and look fun to me. But really I was to small to handle a big truck with clutch. Thomas Earl handed me over the keys to his convertible and told me to drive it. He incouraged me to take them, G O ... You talking about a happy girl. I don't know how I got this pass mom & dad. Don't know how I was permitted to get to do this.. No grown up was with me. I'm thinking Henrietta might have been in front seat. I remember going round and round the field right there next to moms house. I had a fun day that day. One I never forgot. Lol. Needless to say, he was my Hero & friend after that!!! ? It might have been last year, lots of us were at Jearldine's having a yard sale. I saw this truck pull up. A man & woman get out and starts looking around. . I was sitting down behind a table when the gentlemen walks up to me ,friendly and telling me something funny. Wish I could remember what it was but I don't. I looked him straight in the face and recognized that voice, I came alive. Had to get Jearldine to come there And we had a good time reminiscing . I was so glad he stopped that day. Had been years since we had seen him... I think he remembered Dean more than me. Girls, we may not see each other much anymore. Mostly in passing at Walmart. But when we do We're always glad to visit. Love you all ... Your in our thoughts and prayers . Regina Evans McGill"
