Mrs. Cordelia (Connie) Thomas, age 93, of Spring Lake went home to meet her Lord on Wednesday, October 18, 2017. Connie was born in Birnamwood, WI to Gerrit and Alice (Mulder) Bultman. She married Herbert Thomas on August 30, 1946 in Denver, CO and they moved to Spring Lake in 1977. Herb passed away April 16, 1994. Connie was a member of Second Christian Reformed Church and past member of Spring Lake Christian Reformed. She was a member of the Ladies Aide, a past Deaconess and volunteer for Grand Haven Christian School. She loved to bake cookies and Banket for her family, especially her much-loved grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling, sewing and needlework. Connie is survived by her loving family; daughter, Bonnie (Jim) Van Orman of Spring Lake, 3 grandchildren; Brant (Melissa) Van Orman, Grand Haven, Rachelle (John) Uken, Jenison, Allison (Brian) Petroelje, Grand Rapids, great grandchildren; Ethan, Samuel & Kirsten Van Orman, Kate & Lydia Uken, Sena & Mara Petroelje, 2 sisters; Alberta Hubler & Alice Englishman. She was preceded in death by her son, John Howard and siblings Henrietta, Jen, Gertrude, Marie, Gerrit, John, Richard, Martin, Arthur & Kobus. The Funeral Service for Connie will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Second Christian Reformed Church with Pastor Laura de Jonge officiating. Interment will be in Spring Lake Cemetery. Friends may meet the family 1 hour prior to the service at church. Memorial contributions may be given to Grand Haven Christian School. A special thank you to the loving staff at American House and Heartwood Lodge for their compassionate care.
