"My sympathy to Father Gene's family. My memory of him goes way back to his first Mass at St. John's...I was in 3rd grade and had the privilege to sing during that special ceremony. I still have his prayer card from that day.

"To Father Gene's family,
You are in my prayers at this time. Father Gene was a good priest and he touched many people in his years of ministry. I visited him at the nursing home in Bancroft when I was there a couple years ago. May he rest in peace now.
God bless
