Mr. James T Champion, Sr., age 87, of Winchester, Tennessee, passed away Monday, October 6, 2008 at the Southern Tennessee Medical Center. Visitation will be Thursday, October 9th at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Services will be Friday, October 10th in the Moore-Cortner Chapel at 10:00 AM. Burial with military honors will be at Franklin Memorial Gardens. Mr. Champion served in World War II in the army. He is survived by his wife Georgia Champion of Winchester, his son Micah (Mikki) Champion of Tullahoma, his son James T. Champion, Jr. of Florida, his daughter Carolyn Jones from Ireland, and hid daughter Brenda Woodard of Chattanooga. He I also survived by his Step-son Jeff Buchanan, Step-son Roy (Sheila) K. Weddington, Step-son George (Sandy) W. Weddington, Step-daughter Barbara Joe A. Hill, brother Archie Champion, brother Ardie Champion, brother Earl (Frances) Champion, brother Allen (Ruthie) Champion, sister Agnes Jordon, sister Bobbie (Charles) Boswell and sister Mae (Harry) Boswell. He has eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father Robert W. Champion and his Mother Evie Crossland Champion as well as his brother Russell Champion, brother Marshall Champion and his sister Aline Taylor
