In loving memory of

Helen Louise "Mudge" Waddle
August 6, 1944 - February 2, 2011

Mrs. Helen Louise "Mudge" Waddle 66, a long time resident of Danville, made her final journey home on February 2, 2011 after an extended illness.

Born August 6, 1944 in Des Moines, she was the oldest daughter of Earl and Virginia Conn Clingingsmith. Mudge was a graduate of Danville Community High School. She married Larry Waddle on August 22, 1964 in Danville, where they spent the next 46 years enjoying life together.

Mudge and Larry raised their family in Danville where she was a homemaker, bus driver for the Danville School System for over 30 years and an active supporter for countless sporting events. Mudge never knew a stranger and was known and loved by many students, faculty and sporting officials in the surrounding area.

She enjoyed life to the fullest, all sports, especially the St. Louis Cardinals, and spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her fun-loving and outgoing personality, her laugh, her joy of playing cards with friends and sharing time with her family and grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband Larry; two sons, Todd (Tracy) Waddle of Earlham and Tyler (Michelle) Waddle of New London; nine grandchildren, Heather, Kyler, Amber, Jacob, Tayler, Tabian, Carson, Ethan and Tauren; one brother Cleland (Vicki) Clingingsmith of West Burlington; three sisters, Shirley (Jack) Haselbush of Timnath, Colorado, Debbie (Howard) Heater of Danville, and Dona Clingingsmith (Mark Doyle) of Frederick, Colorado; as well as nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mudge will be greatly missed as she touched the lives of so many, always putting a smile on everyone's face. She will be forever remembered in our memories and hearts.

The funeral for Mrs. Waddle will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 6 at Elliott Chapel, New London. Pastor Ed Bunt will officiate. Private family burial will be in Long Creek Cemetery, rural Danville. Family will be present for visitation from noon until time of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Danville Community School Athletic Association.
