Henry "Hank" G. Cox
March 13, 1941 - October 19, 2017

Henry "Hank" Grover Cox, son of Edward Glidden and Henrietta (Twombly) Cox, was born March 13, 1941 in Brooks, Maine. Hank passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at the Shenandoah Medical Center in Shenandoah, Iowa.

Hank's childhood was spent in Brooks, Maine close to his maternal and paternal grandparents. He graduated from Rockland High School with the class of 1959. Following graduation in 1959 he joined the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1963.

Hank was an automotive mechanic at the Oldsmobile dealership in Council Bluffs, Iowa for many years. He also worked for Doug Blackburn for more than 20 years. He enjoyed hunting with dogs and had a passion for breeding and raising hunting dogs.

Hank was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Lee Cox (2009), son Michael G. Cox (2008) and daughter Rhonda Wangberg (2004) and brother James G. Cox (2010).

Hank is survived by his daughter Jane Stucker of Atlantic, IA, son Tim Leighton of Crescent, IA, grandchildren Brian Wangberg of Omaha, NE, Brent Wangberg of CO, Don and Aaron Stucker of Council Bluffs, IA and Emily Leighton of Crescent, IA, sisters Brenda McLaughlin of Anchorage, AK and Cindy Hatch of St. Johnsbury, VT, companion Sandy Feikema of Farragut, IA and dear friends Doug Blackburn and Don and Kathleen Adkins.

Celebration of life gathering will be held from 1-3pm, Wed., Oct. 25, 2017 at the Tabor Community Center located at 626 Main St. in Tabor, IA.

Following the gathering the burial of cremains will be held at Thurman Cemetery in Thurman, IA.

In lieu of flowers memorials to the American Cancer Society.
