"Oh Jon, be sure that I will never forget you. It is so many years ago. I visited you and your wonderful family in the summer 1980. The first time we met was when I first heard your "Give me a hug". I gave you a hug but more than this: you gave me YOUR hug. And I really never will forget that. And your soul full of love. Jon - I have absolute warm feelings for you an really: I will never, never, never forget yo (excuse me, I come from Germany and my English was and is absolutely bad!). Yours Lutz (from Hamburg, Germany)"

"A memory I wanted to share with you all: I remember it being a cold day in January. Jon said, its cold outside today. I said, well since its cold, how about we find somehwere warm? We took a trip to my parents in the country outside Pine Island. On our way, we drove through Oxbo park. We pulled to the side of the road and watched deer feeding in the fields. As the snow fell slowly to the ground, Jon said to me, do you see those raindeer??? I said to Jon, I do! Jon rolled his window down and gave the "raindeer" a big thumbs up and we drove off. I remember a smile on my face all the way to my parents house. After getting to my parents, Jon inspected all applineces. I lit a fire in the woodstove and we enjoyed the glowing warth it gave us. As the snow fell, we sat inside sipping on fresh coffee and enjoyed our families famous Urevig homemade buns. We talked and watched the winter birds feast on the bird feeders. I cherish that time we shared together that day. What great pride I felt to share with Jon something that was so special to me. At that moment I was humble and grouned. I realized that many others in Jon's life shared simular expereinces just like that for many years. What a feeling.. Jon, to me, was a connector of people. He had a way to bring people together for the greater good. Jon taught me life is less about coinsedences and more that we are all connected. And a valuable conclusion to this, is that in this connection, is a powerful flow of strength, support and love. I think it's safe to say, Jon showed us that happiness is best when shared. -Luke Urevig"

"My sincere condolences to family and friends. May you find comfort in your loving memories, and in God's promise to soon "swallow up death forever" and "wipe away the tears from all faces." (Isaiah 25;8) Rev 21:4  "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." With deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers. "
