HAROLD 'JACK' STANGE
MUSCATINE, Iowa - Harold 'Jack' Stange, 91, of Muscatine, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2017, at Lutheran Living.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 3, 2017, at Zion Lutheran Church. Reverend Steve Cauley and Reverend Martha Lang will officiate. Burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2017, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. 'Jack' was born on March 16, 1926, in Muscatine, the son of Harry and Ida Erlich Stange. He married Mary Ann Sylvester on February 6, 1949, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Muscatine. She preceded him in death on December 11, 2012.

'Jack' was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. He was a life-long farmer. He loved his family and he loved farming. He enjoyed playing guitar, banjo, and the harmonica.

Those left to honor his memory include one son, Dick J. Stange and wife, Ann, of Muscatine, and their son, Richard Stange and his wife, Anna; one son-in-law, Fred Kaufmann of Moscow and his children, Jennifer Ann Kaufmann and Kory Kaufmann; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one daughter, Cindy Kaufmann; one grandson, Tim Stange; and one sister, Irene Stange.

"As youngsters, my brother Bill and I spent many enjoyable days following Jack around doing farm chores (like slopping hogs). We also kept our horse and pony on the farm and enjoyed riding them there. These are great memories."
