Connie Lou Gray, 72, of Oxford Junction, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at her home in Oxford Junction, Iowa.

A graveside service and burial celebrating Connie's life will be held at 2 P.M., Monday, November 20, 2017, from the East Iron Hill Cemetery, rural Maquoketa. There is no public visitation. Cremation rites have been accorded. The Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa is caring for the family.

Constance Lou Bearce was born on March 3, 1945 in Maquoketa, Iowa, to David Eldon and Bernice (Prindle) Bearce. She attended Jackson County rural country schools. She married Robert Irwin Gray on June 19, 1993 in Mt. Carroll, Illinois. They later divorced.

Connie was a homemaker, had worked as a nurses aide for seven years and for Swift and Company in Clinton for several years.

Connie enjoyed sewing, fishing, family gatherings, and her pets.

Those left to honor Connie's memory include daughters, Tina Bowen of Maquoketa, IA, and Cindy (Harold) Wilson of Clinton, IA; 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; brothers, David Bearce of Monticello, IA, Ronald Bearce of Maquoketa, IA, Ellsworth (Rita) Bearce of Andrew, IA, and Robert Bearce Monticello, IA; and sisters, Donna (Stanley) Schleuning of Elizabeth, IL, June (Larry) Wall of TX, Margaret (Larry) Edwards of Maquoketa, IA, Marsha (Robert) Starks of Monticello, IA, and Joyce Fleming of Monticello, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Lawrence Bearce.
