Linda K Permann

Linda K. Permann, 72 of Tipton, IA went to be with the Lord on November 4, 2017 following a battle with pancreatic cancer. Linda was born at Creston, IA on Nov 14, 1944. Her parents were William Kenneth and Bessie (Thompson) Miller. She graduated from Des Moines Technical High School in June 1962. Following graduation she was employed by the Des Moines School Board until her marriage to Neil Elden Permann in Armour, SD on June 16, 1963. Almost all of their 43 years of marriage was spent in Creston, IA. Linda was employed for 23 years at Greater Community Hospital and her last 9½ years of employment were at Trolli Candy Co. before retiring in June of 2006 just prior to the death of her husband.

Linda enjoyed reading, crosswords, playing games on the computer, golfing, traveling, work at her church and spending time with family. Linda's faith was very important to her. In 1991 she graduated from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA with a two-year degree in General Bible. A highlight of her life was a trip to the Holy Land in May of 1992 and being baptized in the Jordan River on May 27, 1992.

In Sept 2007 Linda met Larry Hanon of Tipton, IA at a high school reunion where both had attended school but never knew each other. This relationship enhanced both of their lives and they have enjoyed golfing, traveling and just spending time together during the past ten years. Her life partner Larry Hanon of Tipton, IA survives as well as her faithful little Bichon, Truman. Also surviving are her children, Michelle Foland of Slidell, LA, Sheila Elmore of Belleville, IL, Suzanne (Gary) Waddell of Henderson, NV and Michael (Mary) Permann of Grimes, IA. Grandchildren, Brock (Kasia) of Glenn Carbon, IL, Zach Henry of Valentine, NE and Keirstan Henry of Overland Park, KS. Brothers Larry (Wanda Nash) Miller of Creston, IA, Butch (Myrna) Miller of Warner, OK and sister Candice (Harold) Fordyce of Bethany, MO and step-sister Minnette Sidenburg of Sun City, AZ. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Also dear to Linda were Larry's children and grandchildren. Nicki Hanon & Margeen, Corrin and Shon Urmie of Cincinnati, Ohio, Anjie (Tracey) Emanuel & Isaiah, Aiden & Malachi of Montgomery, IL and Lane Hanon of Coralville, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and grandson, Travis Henry in 2010.

Funeral services to be held at United Church of Christ in Tipton, IA at 10:30 on November 9, 2017. Visitation to be at 4 to 7 on November 8, 2017 at Fry Funeral Home in Tipton, IA, who has charge of the arrangements.

Also, a memorial service will be held at Powers Funeral Home in Creston, IA at 11:00 on November 10, 2017 with a visitation starting prior to the service at 10:00.

Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Cromwell, IA
