In loving memory of

Joseph D. Marinola, Jr.
February 18, 1937 - October 31, 2017

Joseph Daniel Marinola Jr. of Englewood, Florida died October 31, 2017. He was born February 18, 1937 in Buffalo, New York.
Joe attended Holy Angels Catholic School and was an altar boy at Holy Angels Catholic Church. He played football for both Bishop Fallon High School and in the military where he served in the Armed Forces. Joe had been stationed in Germany pre Vietnam.
Joe met his wife (Nardy) in Buffalo, NY and they were married on November 12, 1960. They were fondly known to others as "The Honeymooners" and built a loving family of three children, their late son Anthony, Dina and Joey III.
He was known as Joe Hart to many on the West side of Buffalo where Joe worked at the family business "Harts Service Station". Joe eventually bought the business when his father Joe Sr. retired. As a business owner on Connecticut Street and well known to the community; Joe was involved with the Italian Festival and the Little League Sports for the West Side of Buffalo.
Joe and Nardy often vacationed to Englewood Florida for decades and then in 1986, decided to move south to sunny Englewood where he established and opened Marinola Auto Service and Designs by J.D. Marinola. Joe was well known for his honesty and great workmanship with fixing cars. Joe took his engineering background to new heights with building spec homes and was known for fine detail with his building eye. Joe opened his office and heart to the community where he shared his time mentoring others struggling with addictions to have a place to seek fellowship and have a place for meetings to overcome addictions.
Joe and Nardy regularly attended church at St Francis of Assisi and they both helped on a regular basis with pancake breakfasts and other church functions. He was also a member of the Viet Now and Knights of Columbus.
Joe liked to play golf, loved to swim, and had a great gift with his ability to design houses. Joe loved his family and friends. He was all about wanting to see his children and grandchildren perform, compete and even to just laugh, smile and have fun growing up. Most of all, Joe loved his wife Nardy. For many years Nardy took care of him in their marriage and in her last days Joe was glad he was able to care for her needs. Joe is now at peace with his wife Nardy, Son Anthony and our Lord Jesus.
He will be missed dearly by his children: Dina Marinola Potter and Joseph Marinola III; his six grandchildren: Sierra, Derek, Anthony, Macayla, Brett and Keegan. Fondly remembered by his sister Joanne Pautler and several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by his Father Joseph Sr., his mother Grace (Radice) and brother John (Mickey)
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday November 11 at 1:00 p.m. at Living Hope Church, River Road, Englewood, Florida.
Another Celebration of Life will be held up North at a later date to be determined.
