Providence Banek, age 83, of Whiting, New Jersey, died on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at home. Born in Jersey City, she lived in Edison, Bayonne, Florida and Ohio before settling in Whiting in 2009.
A homemaker, she was predeceased by her first husband, Robert J. Fordi Sr. who died in 1983, and her second husband, George Banek, who died in 2005. She is survived by her children, Robert Fordi Jr. and his wife Paula of Burton, Staffordshire, England, Joseph Fordi and his partner John Abreu of Los Angeles, CA, and Renee Montavon and her husband Thomas of Kettering, OH; her grandchildren, Robert and Emily Fordi and Thomas and Cherie Montavon; her brother, Vincent Dove and his wife Marlene of Jackson, NJ and her sister, Mary Pinder and her husband Joseph of Murphy, NC.
A Memorial Celebration honoring Providence's life will be held on Thursday, November. 16, 2017 from 5pm-9pm at Three B's Bar and Bistro located at 314 Route 70, Lakehurst, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions to the American Diabetes Association in memory of Providence.
