Mildred Loudell Ingle Smith
September 26, 1923 - November 13, 2017

Mildred Loudell Ingle Smith, age 94 of Winchester, passed away on November 13, 2017 at St Thomas West in Nashville. She was born on September 26, 1923 in Marion County, AL to the late Newton Dowell and Jossie Sims Ingle. Before her retirement, Mildred had been employed by the Franklin County School System as a Food Service Manager at Sewanee Elementary School. She enjoyed cooking and working with the public which she had done through the years as a waitress, a beauty salon owner, and owning a dress shop. Mildred attended Morton Memorial United Methodist Church and enjoyed spending time with the ladies of the church, and she especially loved celebrating Christmas with her family. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Grapple Lamont Smith; siblings, Garland Ingle, Jewel Hedges, Dean Kinney; half-siblings Gail Layne, Jack Ingle, and Kye Ingle. Mildred is survived by her daughter, Dianne (Harold) McMillan of Winchester; grandsons, Mark McMillan and Brad McMillan, both of West Monroe, Louisiana; great-grandson, Cody McMillan of West Monroe, Louisiana; sister, Betty Nemeth of Charleston, South Carolina; half- siblings, Jane Whited of Texas, John Jerry Ingle of Winchester, Latrieve Kirkland of Winchester, Billy Ingle of Cowan, Sharon Champion of Winchester, Robyn Ingle of Florida, Vicky Ingle of Manchester, Ron Ingle of Sewanee, and Roger Ingle of Monteagle; and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Wednesday at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday in the Moore-Cortner Chapel. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens.
