In loving memory of

Constance Margaret Carter
March 28, 1939 - October 30, 2017

Madison - Constance Margaret Carter (Lutz), age 78, of Madison and formerly of Muskego, died peacefully on October 30, 2017 at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg, Wisconsin.

Connie was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on March 28, 1939, to John (Jack) and Marcella (Murphy) Lutz. The family moved back to Wisconsin to work on the family farm in Oconto Falls. Connie graduated from Oconto Falls High School in 1957. One of her proudest achievements was being chosen to represent Wisconsin as an Alice in Dairyland Princess in 1958. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison before becoming a stewardess for American Airlines. She took time off to raise her three children and then pursued a career in nursing. She worked in the medical field for many years as a registered nurse before her retirement.

Connie had a zest for life. She loved going on road trips and seeing different parts of the country. She loved gardening and was always happiest when she could dig in the dirt. She loved reading books and playing games on her tablet; loved and enjoyed her six grandchildren; and enjoyed spending time at Kelly Lake with her family.

Connie is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Walter Rudolph, and husband, Donald W. Carter.
She is survived by her children: Vincent Rudolph and his wife Sandra; John Rudolph and his wife Jenifer; and Susan Cotey and her husband Dennis; her brother, Thomas Lutz and his wife Karen; her sister, Judi Tanner and her husband Craig; her grandchildren, Emily Cotey, Dylan Cotey, Audrey Rudolph, Lydia Rudolph, Vincent W. Rudolph and Nicholas Rudolph; and her companion, Walter Diedrick.

Visitation will be on Friday, November 24, 2017, from 1-2 pm at Cress Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Road in Madison. A small service will immediately follow the visitation at the funeral home at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Agrace Foundation, 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Madison, WI 53711, whose volunteers were such a help in caring for Connie in her final days.
